An atrocious start to ‘low’ season
Phuket Sport

FISHING: Ahoy me hearties! Once again it’s a foul weather report – in fact neither my friends nor I remember such an atrocious start to the ‘low’ season, but while most of the companies were busy returning deposits, PST’s website advised us that Thai 2 On managed to sneaked out between storms, mid-month, and bagged seven Sailfish, so the boys with the bills are back. That will make for a few Jolly Jack Tars – Brilliant!!!
Predicting yet another maritime tragedy

FISHING: Hi Shipmates, as you may recall, last month I wrote about the stupidity of many tourists and the greed of numerous boat operators, little realising I was predicting yet another maritime tragedy.

FISHING: Ahoy me hearties! And with our entry into May, once again it coincided with the Tuna Bashing Season, more small tuna, around 1,000, than you can shake yer boson’s mate at.

FISHING: Great reports come back after boat’s annual trip to Burma Banks The beginning of the month saw the return of MV Thai 2 On from her annual trip up north to the world renowned Burma Banks where once again they saw plenty of action, with our old shipmate Ian “Tubsy” Tubbs admitting with a “red face” that he just missed the Grand Slam record, (a Black Marlin, Blue Marlin and Sailfsh in one day’s fishing) by failing to land the “easy” one, the Sail.

Getting it all off his chest

FISHING: Not for the first time in its short history, Chalong Pier has once again proven that there is something seriously wrong with the administration running this comedy of errors. Even at the best of times chaos rules as the Chinese hoards fight to get on buses around 8am and 5pm, so does this mean these lemming like carpets of humanity will now be clambering over boats in order to reach their overcrowded excursions or is the marine department going to build an overpass while the underpass continues to sinks under the waves.
Spawning tuna make for interesting fishing out at sea

FISHING: It’s Sods Law – fishing was great right up to the start of the “High” season when the spawning tuna flooded the sea with bait-fish and easy food which makes life that much more interesting for us sports fishermen / folks.
Rambling in the New Year

FISHING: Well shiver me timbers maties, sometimes I wonder how the Thai Baht continues to stay as strong as it has over the last turbulent decade of coups, coos, tsunamis, bird flues and all the other destabilising influences I have experienced over the years.
