On the southwest coast, sharing the same municipality as Kata is Karon Beach, one of Phuket’s longest beaches. Like many nice beach resorts on the west coast it has been growing in popularity over the last few years, and is today renowned as a great place for families to take their holidays. Because the beach is 3km long, you could say that Karon is very much a beach destination, with life revolving the sea and sand, including an array of watersports.
As the seafront area has developed, so has the amount of Karon Beach property for sale. The Movenpick resort was one of the first developments to offer luxury residential living, with amazing apartments for sale looking over the beach. There has recently been more development going on around Karon Lake and as you go further inland on the main Patak Road that leads to Kata there are a number of well-priced Phuket condos for sale, some with amazing sea views.
There are not that many Karon Beach pool villas on the market, but there are a few villas for sale on the back roads. In fact, if it’s really a pool villa you are after, there is probably more of a selection in Karon’s neighbor Kata, than in Karon itself.
Like many of the west coast beaches in the high season, Karon Beach is crystal clear and turquoise blue. The area could have been described as a little run down in years gone by, but the main high street and the area around the lake seems to have transformed considerably over the last few years. This has buoyed the property market and attracted many developers into this part of Phuket.
In the high season, anyone hoping to rent out their condo won’t have much trouble at all. It is a high demand area and rental returns should remain extremely rewarding to property owners. And just like all high demand areas, we should also see plenty of upside potential on property prices too.
