Next to Big Buddha, Laem Phromthep is one of Phuket's most picturesque sites, drawing thousands of tourists everyday to take "selfies", and capture romantic images of the sea swallowing the setting sun.
However, the attraction can be just as deadly as it is beautiful, especially for tourists and residents alike who don't take proper safety precautions.
In July this year, a local fisherman was killed after waves swept him from a spot off Laem Phromthep (story here), and around in November last year, a Singaporean tourist also died after falling from the iconic cape (story here).
Stay tuned for more details about the survivor.
