Krabi City Police stationed at the Khao Khram police box were notified of an accident on Phetkasem Rd southbound, Moo 1 in Khao Khram, which is opposite the Krabi Extension and Agriculture Development Centre (Horticulture) at 7am today (Mar 16).

Krabi City Police arrived at the scene along with Krabi Pitak Pracha rescue workers to find a white tour bus in a roadside ditch and smashed into a tree.

One foreign man and two foreign women had minor injuries and were taken to Krabi Hospital.

The tour bus driver, Rachen Sawengsuk, 46, told police, “I was driving the tour bus, which belongs to ‘Coral Travel Co Ltd’, from Phuket to Krabi International Airport. The tour bus was carrying 36 Russian tourists.

When arrived at the scene, three big bikes were racing. One of them suddenly cut in front of me. I immediately tried to avoid a collision and steered to the side of the road,. However, I lost control of the vehicle which caused the bus to go into the ditch and collide with a tree,” Mr Rachen explained.

Another tour bus from the same company was called to pick up the tourists and take them to Krabi International Airport,” Mr Rachen noted.

Police are continuing their investigation to see if any charges will be pressed.

"Try interviewing the 36 passengers that were on board," I have yet to see, in any "accident", on land, or water, the passengers being interviewed, the police don't seem to interview them, and the "professional" reporters don't, nor do they photograph the accident scene to any high degree, eg, blown tyres, "giant" potholes, skid marks etc.

Regardless of the excuses it's called failure to control. Tired of this stuff and innocents being hurt by negligence and inability. "What Is Failure to Control?
Failure to control is what it sounds like, it applies in a lot of circumstances that are largely out of your control. If you skid or slide because of poor road conditions due to snow, rain, or ice, etc."

Racing big motorbike and than braking/cutting in front of a bus?
Unless the bus dash cam can prove that story, I not believe it.
A big motorbike driver is not that stupid. Would he?
Reality, and fantasy about it is here daily quite fun to read.
