The woman, named by police only as ‘Ms Ketsuda’, was arrested on Sunday (Sept 3), the CIB reported late yesterday (Sept 4).
Ms Ketsuda was charged with conspiracy to murder, the CIB confirmed in its report.
The officers had tracked down Ms Ketsuda in their hunt for her husband, Tharapong ‘Jack’ Nabbua. Ms Ketsuda was found living with her aunt working at a shop in Phattalung.
Ms Ketsuda maintained her innocence and told officers that she had no idea where her husband was. Regardless, Ms Ketsuda was placed under arrest and brought back to Phuket to be charged, the CIB reported.
Ms Ketsuda’s husband, Tharapong, remains wanted for stabbing Wanchai Butdee, the owner of an ice cream shop on the east side of Phuket Town, in the early hours of May 6.
Mr Wanchai, 35, was the owner of the ‘Kinnaree Nam’ ice cream shop located opposite the Phuket Provincial Hospital on Anupasphuketkarn Rd.
Days before the fatal attack Tharapong was seen drinking beer in front of the ‘Kinnaree Nam’ shop while waiting for his motorcycle to be repaired in a neighbouring shop.
According to witnesses, Tharapong didn’t like how Mr Wanchai looked at him, and a heated verbal argument followed. Further escalation was prevented at that time by some people who intervened.
However, three days later, Tharapong returned to the shop and attacked Mr Wanchai on seeing him in front of the shop at about 1:30am.
Tharapong was last seen fleeing in a white Mitsubishi Triton truck. He remains at large.
