The TPL, which also runs the Yamaha League-1 (the league which includes Phuket FC), announced that all matches scheduled to take place on May 24, 25, and 28 have been postponed.

Phuket FC's match-up against Khon Kaen FC will now take place on Wednesday, June 4, at Surakul Stadium in Phuket Town, kick-off at 6:30pm.

The match will be the first of three-straight home games for the Ronins, as they are schedule to take on Roi Et United on June 7 (Saturday) and then Bangkok Glass in round three of the Toyota Cup on June 11 (Wednesday.

"Football in Thailand is growing very fast. I hope this political situation will be resolved soon because it will effect the football industry. Football has become part of the culture in various cities of Thailand, Phuket is one of them," said Pariyawat "Benz" Atchariyachai, President of the club.

"We can anticipate some changes in the reformation, and let's hope that the change is for the better. All we can do is remain positive and do our part, and move our own bricks in this country."

TPL officials announced the actions in light of the recent military takeover that deposed the caretaker government in Bangkok on Thursday (May 22) afternoon. The league contacted all teams via email at about 10pm Thursday (May 22) night informing them that all matches have been postponed.

Phuket United (the island's professional futsal team) match this Saturday (May 24) will still take place at 7pm at Saphan Hin Gymnasium in Phuket Town at 7pm, The Phuket News has learned.
