Supachai, who was hired just before the team's July 23 match against Sriracha FC, was initially suppose to finish out the rest of the year as head coach following the departure of Brazilian manager Stefano “Teco Cugurra Rodrigues on June 22.
Supachai leaves the position after just three matches as head coach (0 wins, 1 loss, two draws), including Saturday's (August 2) 2-2 draw at Bangkok FC.
“Would like to thank coach Supachai Srilachai for stepping up in time of crisis to take over the team,” read a statement by club Chairman Pamuke Achariyachai.
“[Coach Supachai] will no longer be responsible for Phuket FC as head coach but will continue as an assistant,” the steament continued.
Team officials have been in talks with veteran Brazilian coach Reuter Moreira, formerly of Phitsanulok FC, to possibly take over the Ronins for the rest of the year.
Moreira, a respected figure in football, has a 45-year history in the game and has coached several champion players and teams in Brazil, as well as Thailand over the past decade.
