Chalong Police, working with Thalang Police, arrested Ekkachai Boonluan, 41, from Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, at 7:30am today (Nov 9).
Ekkachai was taken into custody on Thepkrasattri Rd northbound in Baan Khao Lan, Moo 1, Srisoonthorn, under arrest warrant Chor. 648/2567 issued by Phuket Provincial Court on Nov 4, Chalong Police reported.
Ekkachai was taken to Chalong Police Station to face legal action, Chalong Police confirmed in their noticew posted online this morning.
Under the arrest warrant, Ekkachai is accused of attempted murder, theft and carrying a weapon in a city, village or public road without reasonable cause.
The warrant was issued after Ekkachai attacked his former employer, Miew Lenphet, on Nov 2. Police believe the weapon used to have been an axe.
The warrant was sought after police reviewed CCTV footage at the scene.
