PHUKET: Major areas across Phuket will face a 24-hour ban on the sale of alcohol from 6pm Saturday (May 10) through to 6pm Sunday (May 11) as local residents go to the polls on Sunday for municipal elections, while a 24-hour ban on the sale of alcohol will go into effect from midnight Saturday night to midnight Sunday night as the country observes the Buddhist religious holiday Visakha Bucha Day.
