Seaplane Travel Arrives in the Andaman: Thai Seaplane Expands Fleet and Opens Phuket–Koh Kradan Route with 20-Minute Flights

Founded in 2018, Thai Seaplane focuses on offering convenient, fast, and elevated air travel by connecting major airports to remote coastal and island locations. In 2024, the company reached a key milestone by securing its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), a move that confirms its commitment to international safety and service standards as it prepares to scale across Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Thai Seaplane has already imported its first fully operational amphibious aircraft from the United States— currently the only seaplane of its kind in Thailand. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its fleet with 30 additional aircraft between 2025 and 2027, enabling broader service across both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.

As part of its regional rollout, Thai Seaplane has partnered with Trang province to launch a direct route between Phuket and Koh Kradan—a destination recently ranked among the world’s most beautiful islands. The route dramatically cuts travel time, offering a smooth 20-minute flight from Phuket City compared to the typical three-hour journey by road and ferry.

This new mode of transport is designed not just for tourists, but also for communities. By improving access to coastal and island areas, Thai Seaplane supports regional development, education, employment, and broader economic opportunity. Local residents will benefit from increased access to training, aviation careers, and hospitality roles—all aligned with international standards.

The initiative also aims to attract high-value international travelers seeking unique, premium experiences. Through private seaplane access to remote locations, the project strengthens Trang’s position—and the Andaman region more broadly—as Asia’s next luxury destination.

The partnership with Trang represents a strong model for public–private collaboration, demonstrating how Thai Seaplane is working closely with local authorities to deliver real, sustainable transport solutions for the country’s tourism and mobility future.

As Thai Seaplane prepares to scale, its mission remains clear: To transform sea-to-sky travel across Thailand—combining safety, speed, and sustainability in every flight.
