Sayomphu Guamsup, 21, died in hospital after he was stabbed three times in the attack on Surin Road after an altercation at the nearby “At Time Bar”. (See original report here.)
Sompong Boonrak, also 21, was also stabbed in the attack, but survived. Apparently Mr Sompong was not involved in the street fight, but just a bystander at the bar.
Police told The Phuket News that the gang of five were tracked down to their rented house in Koh Kaew after reviewing CCTV footage.
Anon Ketkeaw, 22, was charged with attempted murder, and Ritchot Raksasap, 21, was charged for operating the getaway motorbike.
Triront Seaaor, 24, was charged for starting the fight and Aphichai Siriwatrakit, 24, and Anan Boonroong, 25, were charged with joining the affray.
All five confessed to the charges against them, said police.
They are currently being held at Phuket City Police Station.
