Police on manhunt for sole knifeman in Phuket stabbing murder, attempted murder
PHUKET: Police are confident they will swiftly arrest the knifeman who single-handedly stabbed two 21-year-old men, one fatally, in a post-party brawl in Phuket City's Talaid Yai sub district in the early hour's of this morning.

At about 2am today Vachira Phuket Hospital informed police of the death of 21-year-old Sayomphu Guamsup of Kokaeo, who had been prounced dead not long after being admitted to the hosptal's ER unit.
An examination found that Mr Sayomphu had sustained three 30mm stab wounds in the abdominal region.
Mr Sayomphu was admitted to hospital about the same time as Mr Sompong Boonrak, also 21, but a resident of Talad Yai.
Mr Sompong, who was stabbed on the left side of his stomach is recovering at hospital.
Police have named the sole suspect in the stabbings only as "Golf".
It is understood that the victim was with a group of friends enjoying themselves at an entertainment establishment when they became entangled in a spat with a group at another table, which escalated as the men left the establishment.
By the time rescue workers had arrived to scene of the fight at about 1.45am -- in front of popular clothing shops on Surin Rd in Talad Yai -- the suspect had already fled.
However, police have ssured that they are close on the suspect's trail.
