Phuket City Police were called to the scene, near the Phuket Extreme Sports Stadium, at 4:13am.
Officers arrived to find a Honda Wave motorbike with Phang Nga registration on the road with damage.
Broken beer bottles were scattered all over the area, and iron bars were found at the scene. A little further away, a sharp knife was found along with blood stains on the ground.
Officers were informed that one of the youths, ‘Mr. Chai’ (not his real name), had been stabbed in the back during the fight. He had been already taken to Phuket Provincial Hospital.
From their initial investigation, police said that a group of 10-15 youths were sitting in the area when four other youths arrived on two motorbikes.
The four youths taunted the group, which led to an argument and a brawl ensued.
With one of their members injured, the four fled and called the police.
Police said they were continuing their investigation with the intent of pressing charges, and would check CCTV in the area in the hope of tracking down the missing youths involved in the fight.
