Police were notified of the accident, near the entrance of Soi Srisoonthorn (Soi RCA), in Moo 5, Srisoonthorn, at about 2:40am
Emergency responders from the Kusoldharm Foundation and a medical team from Thalang Hospital were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a black, Phuket-registered Honda PCX motorbike with heavy damage after colliding with an electric pole.
Nearby, an unidentified young man lay in critical condition, suffering from a large head wound and a broken left leg.
Medical personnel administered first aid before rushing him to Thalang Hospital for urgent treatment.
Chaiyut Rasami, 52, who called emergency services, told police that he was riding his motorbike with his girlfriend when the young man sped past them and crashed into the power pole.
Officers recorded the details of the incident and transported the damaged motorcycle to Thalang Police Station while the investigation continues.
