Thalang Police were notified of the accident, on the Phru Somphan-Ngan Thawee Rd, about 100 metres from Thepkrasattri Rd, at 7:55pm.
Rescue workers from the Thepkrasattri Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor) and from the Kusoldharm Foundation arrived with police to find the body of the woman. She was not wearing a helmet and had barbed wire wrapped around her head.
The woman was described as young. She was not carrying any identification documents, though officers at the scene believed she was from Myanmar.
She was wearing grey sweatpants, a short-sleeved pink T-shirt with a grey long-sleeved shirt on top.
Nearby was a Honda Scoopy i motorbike fitted with a Phuket-issued red license plate. The owner of the motorbike was identified as Mr Ong Saad, police said.
The bag of latex tappings weighed about 50kg, police noted.
Officers believe that the woman was driving from Baan Phru Somphan at high speed and lost control of the motorbike, causing her to crash into the barbed wire fence.
The woman’s body was taken to Thalang Phuket Hospital while police try to identify her and continue their investigation into the accident.
