PHUKET: A woman driving along Thepkrasattri Rd escaped injury after a tyre blowout forced her car to swerve across traffic and slam into a power pole this morning (Nov 2).

Mariam Binhreem, 25, told police she was driving to Phuket International Airport when her front left tyre blew out about 500 meters from the Tha Reu shrine in Koh Kaew at about 7am.
“I heard a loud bang and the car swung across the road,” Ms Mariam said.
“The car smashed into the electricity pole very hard. I had my seat belt on, which stopped my body from slamming into the steering wheel,” she added.
