Tha Chatchai Police reported that the incident occurred at about 8:30pm. Pol Lt Col Sornthip Chukaew, Investigating Officer at Tha Chatchai Police Station, received a report of a knife attack at a row house near Khong Mak Prok in Mai Khao, and responded to the scene with fellow officers.
At the residence, police found the suspect, named as Naree Surin, 50. According to police, initial questioning revealed that Ms Naree had been drinking alcohol at the house with her husband, 58-year-old Somsit Boonthap, when an argument broke out and escalated into violence.
During the altercation, Ms Naree allegedly grabbed a knife and slashed her husband in the head, causing heavy bleeding. Rescue workers from the Kusoltham Foundation rushed Mr Somsit to Thalang Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police inspected the scene, seized the knife believed to have been used in the attack, and took Ms Naree into custody for further questioning and legal proceedings.
Officers said the investigation is ongoing.
