At 9:30pm on Friday (Dec 12), officers set up a checkpoint at Ao Yon. The operation targeted groups of teenagers known to gather in the area to ride modified motorcycles and disturb residents. No motorcycle gangs were found during the checks.

A second operation followed at 10pm at the Laem Dinso viewpoint in Moo 6, Wichit. Pol Lt Col Sawat Phol-on, together with Pol Lt Supachai Iamasaad led 10 officers from Wichit Police Station in setting up checkpoints and roadblocks.

The operation was conducted in cooperation with Kittithach Khuangla, village headman of Moo 6, along with community security volunteers and other personnel. Officers again reported no groups causing disturbances in the area.

Wichit Police Chief Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang, said checkpoint locations and operating times across Wichit have been adjusted to maximise effectiveness in preventing and suppressing illegal activities, particularly the use of modified motorcycles on public roads.

He noted that over the past year, since taking charge of the station, police have continuously arrested offenders ‒ both juveniles and adults ‒ confiscated motorcycles, and taken legal action against parents who failed to properly supervise their children.
