The turtle, weighing about 30kg, was spotted during a routine beach patrol.
Wirun Chuea-saman, head of the Surin-Bang Tao Beach lifeguards, led the team in recovering the turtle and providing immediate care.
The turtle had no visible injuries but appeared weak and in need of further medical attention.
Marine biologists from the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animal Rescue Center at Cape Panwa were called to provide first aid and investigate the cause of the turtle’s stranding.
Further assessments and care are being provided as officials work to determine the reason behind the turtle’s condition.
