Arunee Sangsil called the foundation to send help to her home in Soi Thungjeen 1 in Srisoonthorn after she spotted the snake causing havoc inside her henhouse.
The volunteers, who have had plenty of practice at catching snakes in the past few months, some of them much larger, took just 30 minutes to bag the serpent. It was later released in the wild, far away from Ms Arunee’s chickens.
Ms Arunee said this was not the first time she’s had trouble with cobras and pythons, which emerge from the rubber plantation at the back of her home and snack on the birds she raises.
