Sakhu Police entered the ‘Cannabis @Hive Cannabistro’ shop in Moo 5. Sakhu, at about 5pm on Wednesday (May 15), Sakhu Police reported.
Officers found Myanmar national Htet Myat Kyaw, 25, working as staff in the shop.
Mr Htet told officers that he had worked at the shop for about one month, for a monthly salary of B13,000.
Detphong Phromphak, 25, from Phuket Town, presented himself as the manager of the shop.
Officers asked to search the premises, which Mr Detphong acceded to.
Officers found and seized 45 ‘NUKE’ brand vaping devices in an assortment of flavours, including cola, apple, watermelon, strawberry, mint and grape.
Detphong and Mr Htet were taken to Sakhu Police Station, where they were both charged with “jointly helping to hide, help sell, help take away, buy, pawn or accept in any way Items that are known to have been brought illegally into Thailand”, under Section 242 of the Customs Act.
Mr Htet was also charged with illegally entering the country and working illegally in the country.
