Tha Chatchai Police reported that the incident occurred at approximately 10:20pm at the Golden Cat Restaurant located on Soi Maikhao 5, in Moo 4, Mai Khao..
The victim, a 16-year-old resident of Mai Khao Subdistrict, told officers she was leaving the restroom when the suspect ‒ identified by police as Firuz Ahmedov, an Uzbekistan national ‒ allegedly blocked her path with outstretched arms, preventing her from exiting.
He then reportedly dragged her back into the restroom and grabbed her chest. The girl screamed for help, prompting restaurant staff and the owner to intervene immediately. They subdued the man until police arrived.
Officers from Tha Chatchai Police Station responded quickly. Upon arrival, they found the suspect already apprehended by restaurant patrons. He was taken into custody and transported to the station for questioning and further legal proceedings.
The case falls under Thailand’s strict laws on indecent acts, particularly when involving a minor. Recent amendments to sexual offence laws (effective late 2025) classify unwanted sexual touching as a serious crime, with potential penalties of up to 10 years imprisonment.
Police have not yet released details on formal charges or the suspect’s immigration status, but such incidents involving foreigners often lead to coordination with the Immigration Bureau for possible visa revocation and deportation.
