Officers from the Mueang Phuket District Office carried out the inspection over late Friday night (Feb 27) at an establishment located at the “Slaughterhouse Intersection” in Talad Nuea, known now as the Pattana-ChaoFa-Bangkok Rd Intersection.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Mueang Phuket District Chief Pairoj Srilamul, led by Deputy District Chief Akkra Suwattikul, head of the Administrative Affairs Group, and Deputy District Chief for Security Affairs Thiti Bunyasathien. They were joined by personnel of the Volunteer Defence Corps (OrSor) Mueang Phuket District Unit 1.

Authorities said the inspection followed a complaint alleging that foreigners were holding a party at the venue involving drug use.

During the raid, officers arrested a 30-year-old Thai man identified only as ‘Koby’, who admitted to being the manager of the establishment.

When asked to present the venue’s operating licence, the man was unable to provide any documentation. Officials confirmed that the establishment did not have a valid licence to operate.

Twelve items were seized from the premises as evidence. Authorities did not disclose details of the items.

The manager was charged with operating an entertainment venue without permission and beyond permitted hours under the Entertainment Establishments Act B.E. 2509 and its subsequent amendments.

Under the law, venues that provide food, alcoholic beverages or other drinks for commercial gain, along with music or entertainment, must close by midnight unless specific permission has been granted.

He was also charged under the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act B.E. 2551 for selling alcoholic beverages during hours prohibited by ministerial announcement. The charges were filed in accordance with Section 16 and Section 28 in conjunction with Section 39 of the Act, and a December 1, 2025 announcement by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Committee setting out restricted sales times.

The suspect and all seized items were handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station for further legal proceedings.

The Mueang District Office said it would continue strict inspections of entertainment venues across the district to ensure compliance with the law, particularly with regard to operating hours and restrictions on alcohol sales.

Officials said the intensified enforcement is aimed at maintaining public order and preventing social problems in the area.
