Mai Khao OrBoTor and Kusoldharm Foundation rescue workers received a call at 9:45am from OrBorTor official Mr Chokdee Inkrup stating that he needed help catching two pythons that had been found hidden in a drainpipe behind his house.

Rescue workers arrived at the house and were led to a drainpipe behind the house where the two snakes had taken refuge. It took rescue workers two hours to remove both snakes using an iron rod.

Mr Chokdee said that he was afraid that his family or pets would be harmed by the reptiles so called for help.

He went on to say that it took rescue workers two hours to remove the male and female snakes from the pipe. The male python was said to be about four metres long and weighed 30 kilos, the female was three metres long and weighed 20 kilos.

Both snakes were placed in a sack and are to be released in the Khao Pra Taew area.

Mr Chokdee added, “This is the mating season for snakes so we think they were looking for a place to mate and lay their eggs. Luckily they did not hurt anyone because they are known to be aggressive during this period.”
