An undercover police officer arrested Sorrapong Khawnmeang at about 6pm on February 8 and seized two bags of ya bah, containing 70 tablets. Sorrapong told police he got the drugs from his rommmate – Naiyaden Matharak, 32, of Nakorn Srithammarat – who kept several bags of ya bah at the rubber plantation work camp where they stayed.
That same evening, police raided the rubber plantation work camp on Pakrongcheep Rd. Family members were in a panic as police rushed to capture the fleeing roommate, Naiyaden.
During the raid, police found a total of 1,400 ya bah pills hidden in small bags all over the rubber factory. Naiyaden confessed that the bags belonged to him and that he was about to deliver them to his clients.
He also admitted that he got the drugs from a man nicknamed Nai Hoa Bass.
Both Sorrapong and Naiyaden were charged with possession of Category 1 drug with intent to sell.
