Upon arriving at the scene in front of the Phuket Charoen Hin Khad shop, police officers and rescue workers discovered an Isuzu pickup truck in a deep roadside ditch.

The driver was trapped in the cabin following the accident. Rescue workers had to use special tools to release him, a process that took over 20 minutes. His female passenger was thrown out of the vehicle during the collision.

The man sustained a broken left ankle among other injuries, while the woman broke her left and right legs. Both were conscious when assistance arrived.

According to eyewitnesses, the pickup truck was heading towards Koh Kaew when the driver lost control at high speed, leading to the crash into a concrete structure and the vehicle becoming stuck in the ditch. Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
