In Thalang, officers were called to a resort in Thepkrasattri late last night (Mar 30) after a 26-year-old man was discovered unresponsive in his room.
Thalang Police reported receiving the alert at about 10:30pm, directing officers to a small resort located behind Thalang Police Station. The deceased was identified as Nattakit Temkaek, 26, from Pattani.
A friend told police he returned to the room at around 10:30pm and found Mr Nattakit lying on his back with no visible injuries. Marijuana paraphernalia was found in the room, and police noted the man was a regular cannabis user who worked late hours and had irregular sleep patterns.
A doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital conducted a preliminary examination and estimated the man had died six to eight hours earlier. Initial findings suggest the cause of death may have been cardiac arrhythmia, though the body has been sent for a full autopsy to confirm the exact cause.
Just hours later in Patong, a 43-year-old man was found dead at an employee dormitory on Phra Baramee Rd.
Patong Police received the report at 8:24am today (Mar 31) and arrived at a three-storey building, where the man was found hanged from a stair railing between the second and third floors.
The deceased was identified as Somkid Muangkhum, 43, a company employee living in Patong.
Police said there were no signs of a struggle or physical injuries. A colleague told officers she had been in a relationship with Mr Somkid for about three years before they separated a month ago.
She reported that he had come to her room while intoxicated last night but she did not let him in. She later found his body the following morning.
A doctor from Patong Hospital conducted an initial examination at the scene, and the body has been transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further autopsy.
Police are continuing their investigations into both deaths.
