Narcotics police carried out the raids after learning from undercover officers that drug deals that were taking place at the venues were on the rise.
In the first incident, at 4pm narcotics police led by Maj Ritthichai Chumchoy arrested Samutsongkram native Napaporn Tapowtong, 29, behind the Nong Bow Karaoke on Soi Damrong in Talad Yai and seized 1.41 grams of crystal meth (ya ice).
Napaporn told police she had bought the drug from a dealer name Moo for B1,500. She now faces being charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell.
In the second incident, at 5:30pm, narcotics police arrested Sai, 26, from Burma inside the Nook-Nat Karaoke in Rassada with 2.60 grams of ya ice.
The arrest came after undercover officers reported that Sai had been taking drugs into the area to sell to local users.
Police found Sai in the karaoke bar and upon searching him found the drugs hidden in a turn-up on the leg of his trousers.
Sai told police he had bought the drug for B3,000 per gram from a Thai man, whom he only ever spoke to him via a mobile phone, and that he would sell the drugs to foreign workers in the area.
He failed to provide an id card or passport when police requested them.
Sai also faces being charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell and also living in Thailand illegally.
Both Napaporn and Sai were taken to Phuket City Police Station to face their charges.
