Kathu police arrested Noppadol Wisetrat, 21, and Petty officer 1st class Jamnien Samorhom who works at a Navy base in Phang Nga, this morning when police found the leaves hidden inside their delivery truck.

Kathu policeʼs Lt Suthichai Tienpo revealed that narcotics police informed Kathu police that Noppadol and Jamnien had been smuggling drugs into Phuket for quite sometime.
Therefore, at 1am this morning, narcotics police contacted Jamnien and ordered 20 kilos of kratom with a price of B2000 per kilo.
Jamnien agreed to deliver drugs but told his new client he would have to wait because Noppadol was travelling to Chumporn to them up.
At 4am Jamnien told the buyer to pick up at the supply at 50 Year Rd in front of the Hilltop Hotel.
Upon arrival police saw two vehicles parked on the road and the two men.
The two men were finally arrested at 4:30am.
Police searched one of the vehicles, a delivery truck delivering goods to a convenience store, and found 24 bin liners stuffed with kratom leaves hidden among the goods.
Noppadol and Jamnien were taken to Kathu police station and charged with illegal possession of a Category 5 with intent to sell.
