Thalang Police were called to the scene, at the U-turn near Baan Mueang Mai Market in Thepkrasattri, about 3:10pm.
Officers arrived to find a Hino truck with trailer, registered in Phuket, with damage to its front bumper.
A green Toyota pickup truck, registered in Bangkok, was stopped in the right lane just past the U-turn with heavy damage to its rear.
As evidenced by dash cam footage from another motorist passing by, the green pickup, with two refrigerators in the back, pulled out and made a U-turn into the path of the oncoming truck.
Despite the truck driver immediately braking heavily, the truck slammed into the back of the pickup, sending the pickup flying forward and one of the refrigerators falling out onto the road.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
Traffic officers quickly worked to clear the scene and alleviate the traffic congestion that had resulted from both the truck and the pickup being stopped in the middle of the road.
