Capt Santichai Simai of the Thalang Police was alerted to the accident, near the PTT petrol station in Muang Mai, Thalang, at 7:45pm.

“We arrived to find a Honda City sedan upside down on the southbound lanes, and a silver Toyota Altis limousine that had a seriously impacted front end,” Capt Santichai said.

Three people were travelling in the Honda sedan: Natnarin Chudoang, 36; Sasinee Chudoang, 17; Ponpan Chudoang, 29.

“They are fine. They only had scratches on them,” Capt Santichai said.

Travelling in the limousine were tourists – Chloe Gabrielle, 20, and Arnud Schneider, 21.

“They both suffered cuts to their eyebrows, and the driver, Sittichai Changpa, suffered a hurt shoulder,” Capt Santichai.

All six involved in the accident were taken to Thalang Hospital.

“The Honda was heading north when it flew over the traffic island,” Capt Santichai said.

“We are continuing or investigation into why this happened,” he added.

However, Capt Santichai did not mention who was driving the Honda at the time of the accident or whether that person had been tested for drugs or alcohol.
