Teerasil joined the Spanish club last July one a one-year loan from SCG Muang Thong United of the Thai Premier League. He was the first Thai national to play in Spain's top-flight league.

“I had a lot of problems, particularly communications with the coach and teammates and that made it difficult for me to understand the team's tactics,” Teerasil told the Post's Tor Chittinand.

Teerasil played one of his first matches in an Almeria uniform in a friendly against Phuket FC last August. Almeria won that match 3-1 and it became one of The Phuket News' top sports moments of the year.

Teerasil had mentioned his unhappiness with the Spanish club during a press conference last November.

"Right now, I’m only thinking about working hard here to try and play, because the time hasn’t come for me to decide where I’m going to be in the future.  When the January transfer window opens, then I’ll have a clearer picture of whether I’ll stay at Almeria or if I prefer to go to another team," he said in November.

The 26-year-old is expected to play for Muang Thong in the upcoming TPL season and will arrive in Bangkok on Thursday (January 29).

Meanwhile, Thailand national team coach Kiatisak “Zico” Senamuang told reporters that he would welcome Teerasil to join the team for the upcoming King's Cup, which takes place February 1–7 in Nakhon Ratchasima.

The King's Cup includes the Uzbekistan, South Korean, and Honduran nation team sides in a round-robin competition.
