Karon Police were notified of the incident at about 11pm.

At the scene, officers met Amarat Mahayeh, who told police that the injured man, identified as Jirasak ‘Man’ Thonghor, had been taken to Chalong Hospital.

Ms Amarat stated that she did not witness the stabbing but found Mr Jirasak shouting out for help at the front of the dormitory where she stayed. Noticing he was losing consciousness from a stab wound on his left side, she called for a taxi to take him to the hospital.

Police learned that at about 9:30pm Mr Jirasak rode his Trang-registered motorbike from the 7-Eleven near the Mae Som Jit Market to a house on Soi Green Drinking Water.

He became involved in an argument with French national Arnaud Cezard, 50, which escalated into a physical altercation involving knives. Both men sustained injuries during the fight.

An eyewitness, Nourriya Jeali, reported that Mr Jirasak arrived at Mr Cezard’s house at about 9:30pm and threw a beer bottle into the property, provoking Mr Cezard to come outside.

The confrontation moved to the exit road of the street, where the two began fighting with knives. Two unidentified Thai men attempted to intervene. Seeing Mr Jirasak’s condition, they urged him to seek medical attention. Mr Jirasak left on his motorbike, while Mr Cezard was taken to Dibuk Hospital.

Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and interviewing more witnesses to gather more details about the incident.

Bloodstains were found on the street, believed to be the crime scene.

As of today, Mr Jirasak remains in serious condition, having sustained a stab wound to the lung. Meanwhile, Mr Cezard is reported to be safe.

Police are continuing their investigation.
