Two goals from Suphawut Thueanklang and one each from Jirawat Sornwichian, Jetsada Chudech, Wiwat Thaijaruen and Apiwat Chaemcharoen were more than enough for the national futsal team in a 6-1 win over Australia at Universal Stadium in Tashkent.
Australia’s lone goal came from Gregory Giovenali.
The victory moved the Thai team to the last four of the AFC Futsal Championship in the Uzbekistan capital and they were automatically awarded a place in the Futsal Fifa World Cup in Columbia in September.
The War Elephants will meet the host in the semi-finals tomorrow (Feb 19).
