The incident occurred just after 1am on Friday (Apr 19). The injured man, identified by Patong Police as Ariyath Kaewnao, 20, was initially taken to Patong Hospital and later transferred to Vajira Phuket Hospital. There have been no updates on his condition since then.

The suspect was tracked down with the help of his friend, Jittipat (Jim) Srisuphan, an 18-year-old resident of Wichit. Confronted by police at his home, Jittipat confessed to his involvement in the incident and agreed to contact the 17-year-old assailant, known as Mr Lek.

Mr Jittipat and Mr Lek communicated via messenger and agreed to meet at a convenience store near Phuket Deep Sea Port on Cape Panwa in Wichit, where Mr Lek was subsequently arrested. The teenager will now face charges.
