Police from Tha Chatchai Police Station received a report of the incident at about 12:50am.

Officers, along with rescue personnel from Mai Khao and volunteers from the Sarasin rescue team, were dispatched to the scene to investigate and begin search efforts.

Initial inquiries, including questioning fishermen who were on the bridge at the time, led police to a white, Phuket-registered Honda PCX motorbike parked near the bridge.

Witnesses told officers that the owner of the motorbike walked towards the bridge before a woman was seen jumping into the sea and disappearing beneath the water.

Authorities have identified the missing woman as Porawasa Onika, also known as ‘Teacher Pro’, 25, a teacher at Satree Phuket.

Officials conducted an initial search in the water following the report but had not located her as of this morning. Family members and relatives travelled to the scene after hearing the news and remained there while search efforts continued.

Police said further searches would resume today as officers review witness statements and examine other evidence to confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident.
