Pol. Lt. Pawiinuch Kongsut, Deputy Chief of Investigations at Phuket City Police Station explained that the first complaint was lodged on Friday (Dec 27) around 5pm by parents of an 8-year-old girl.
In their complaint the parents explained how their daughter had returned home from school earlier that day and relayed the incident to them, revealing that the male social studies teacher had kissed her on her cheek and touched her stomach in an inappropriate manner.
The daughter further explained that the molestation had been taking place for some time and that several of her friends had also been forced to endure it.
A second official complaint was lodged at the same police station a few hours later on Friday by parents of another 8-year-old girl that they claim was molested by the same teacher.
The incident they relayed to police was almost identical to the first complaint whereby their daughter had been kissed on the cheek by the teacher before he touched her stomach and breast areas in an inappropriate manner.
Both sets of parents explained they were seriously concerned that this inappropriate behaviour has been occurring for some time and it would no doubt continue unless action was brought against the offending teacher.
While adding they were concerned that there was no formal evidence other than the word of the girls themselves, the parents were hopeful that their combined complaints would lead officers to investigating the teacher further and resolving the issue in due course.
No mention was made of the school or the identities of the teacher, the studnets or the parents in the official report released by the police.
