Mr. Thawatchai Aranyik, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, pointed out that the TAT Tourism Marketing Plan for 2014 involves joining hands with travel allies to design effective and creative tourism campaigns.
The focus led to the establishment of the “All Out Fun! Discover Thailand with AirAsia” campaign, set to run from February to June 2014.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage those who normally travel Thailand to do so more frequently and spur more circulation.
TAT and AirAsia have targeted over 40,000 travelers to be encouraged to generate a circulation of B305 million.
AirAsia’s promotional fares allow travelers to choose an air travel service that is convenient and timely.
By providing more choices for travelers, AirAsia has strengthened the Thai travel industry in line with the policies of the TAT.
Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, stated that AirAsia is overjoyed to be taking part in this campaign with the TAT as it also emphasises the domestic market, appreciating Thailand’s wealth of travel attractions.
AirAsia currently flies to 14 domestic destinations that cover the north, northeast and southern regions and provides convenient connections between key locations such as Chiang Mai-Krabi and Phuket-Udon Thani.
The airline also works with local operators to provide a shuttle van service from Phitsanulok-Sukhothai and from Chiang Mai-Pai as well as ferry services in the South Sea to the islands of Samui, Phangan, Phi Phi, Lipe, Ngai and Yao Noi.
Mr Tassapon said “we have provided the best fares and immediate travel for this special campaign to do our part in stimulating Thai travel.
