Lt Col Phongpipat Khamchumphu of the Thalang Police was notified of the man’s death at 12:21pm.
The man’s son told police that he and his father had been jogging and swimming in front of Bang Tao Beach. Afterwards, they had breakfast then lay down and rested for a while at an area near the beach.
Later, the son noticed that his father was shaking and he was unable to wake him. The son called an ambulance, which soon arrived.
Nurses began performing CPR while rushing the man to Thalang Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Doctors at Thalang Hospital have confirmed the cause of death as cardiac arrest.
