The woman, named by police only as ‘Ms Su’, 25, from Chiang Rai, was taken into custody opposite the Mini Big C store at the east end of the street, at about 5:30pm.
A subsequent search of a home also in Moo 1, Chalong (Soi Ta-iad is in Moo 1 Chalong), saw officers seize 1.12kg of crystal meth, 938.73g of cocaine, 63 ecstasy pills and some cash.
Officers had learned that Su had a habit of selling drugs, including crystal meth (ya ice), cocaine and ecstasy to foreigners in the Chalong area, leading to the investigation and plan to arrest her, Chalong Police noted.
Her boyfriend had fled earlier, Chalong Police added, explaining why he was not also arrested.
Su was taken to Chalong Police Station and charged with illegal possession of and jointly distributing both Category 1 and Category 2 narcotics, Chalong Police confirmed.
