The arrests led to police seizing a total of 152 grams of crystal meth (ya ice), methamphetamine pills (ya bah), a gun and other items.
The Phuket narcotic suppression division started surveying two alleged drug dealers named as Radit Janpherm, 41, and Wuttiwat Setsra, 48, on June 1 after receiving information they were selling drugs in the Thapkasattri area.
At 9pm on Tuesday (June 16), police arrested Radit at his rented room in Thapkasattri when he was found to have in his possession 3.36 grams ya ice.
His arrest came after undercover police were informed that he had just made a drug purchase.
After being questioned by police Radit told police that he would pay his dealer B2,500 for 3 grams of ice, and that his dealer was still waiting for him near the Thanyapura Sports and Leisure Club for payment.
Radit led police to his dealer, Monkol Benjapan, 31, who when searched was found with .57 grams of crystal meth in his pocket.
Monkol told police he often bought drugs from a man name Ekk who lived in Moo Baan Sapam. He also told them that the last time he brought drugs from Ekk was on Sunday (June 14). Monkol also gave the police the name of a second dealer called Tien.
Police told Mongkol to call Tien and order more drugs from her and to arrange to meet her at the Lemonglass restaurant on Dibuk Rd in Talad Yai at 4:30pm yesterday (June 17).
Then at 4:30pm yesterday, narcotic suppression officers arrested Mahasarakram resident Tienjai (Tien) Pakkhatanang, 43, in front of Lemonglass restaurant when she arrived to deliver the drugs as planned. She had in possession 36.23 grams of ya ice.
Police also seized from Tien a Honda scoopy and a mobile phone.
Tien told police that she bought drugs from a man named Bang. So police also got Tien to set up a deal with Bang.
At 8:20pm narcotic police followed Tien to the arranged drug drop-off location in front of the Nattakarn apartments in Talad Yai.
When police arrived, two men were waiting. Police approached and searched the two and found 10.09 grams of ya ice, 15 ya bah pills, a .38 pistol and 20 bullets.
The two were later named as Nontapol (Bang) Chaipakdee, 35, and Jared Khorsantiwichai.
Police also seized from the two a Nissan pick up truck, digital scales and drug taking pharaphernalia.
Nontapol admitted all charges made against him, while Jared denied all charges but admitted that he drove the Nissan to transport drugs.
Later the same night, police also Radit̕s friend Wuttiwat who had in his possession 101 grams of ya ice. He was arrested at his rented room in Koh Kaew.
Wuttiwat told police that he bought the ya ice from a man named Meng in Surat Thani and paid B150,000 for 100 grams when it was delivered at 11pm on Tuesday (June 16). He said he was going to sell it to his client for B170,000.
All six are currently being held at Phuket Provincial Police Station where Wuttiwat, Radit and Tein have been charged with possession of a Category 1 with intent to sell.
Monkol has been charged with possession of Category 1 drug, while Nontapol and Jared were charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell and illegal possession of a firearm and amunition.
