Chalong Police confirmed the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday (Mar 25) following an investigation into the incidents, which had caused widespread concern among residents in the area.
The arrest was made under the direction of Pol Col Surasak Jaidee, Superintendent of Chalong Police Station, after officers gathered evidence linking the man to all four cases.
Police identified the suspect only as ‘Boy’, 30, noting that his surname has been withheld. He is described as having a thin build, dark complexion and a closely shaved haircut, and was known to ride a black Honda Click 125 motorcycle.
According to investigators, the suspect used a similar method in each attack, approaching victims before using force to commit indecent acts. The assaults took place in both public and private areas, with victims sustaining minor injuries and reporting significant distress.
Officers compiled evidence from the separate complaints and secured four arrest warrants from the Phuket Provincial Court prior to the arrest.
Upon being taken into custody, the suspect confessed to the offences, police said.
He has been initially charged with committing indecent acts by using force against a person unable to resist and has been handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.
Police also revealed that the suspect has a prior record involving drug-related offences dating back to 2023.
Chalong Police have increased monitoring and patrols in the area following the incidents, and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police via the 191 emergency hotline or Chalong Police Station directly at 076-381247.
