The crocodile was last seen at Kata Beach, amid concerns it was travelling further up the west coast towards the popular tourist areas of Karon and Patong.
Karon Mayor Thawee Thongcham today reported that the crocodile was last seen near Karon Beach at 3:30am, but since then despite the efforts by officials, crocodile experts from Sura Thani and a host of volunteers including local fishermen, the crocodile has escaped capture.
Meanwhile, officials and lifeguards have struggled with keeping tourists away from the water's edge at popular tourist beaches.
The search continues.
