Rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Foundation reported that a local fishing boat had reported a body of a man seen in the water between Patong and Karon.
The reported location of the body was some 10 minutes offshore.
Rescue workers launched a search, but failed to find any body in the water.
The search team later returned to shore at Patong.
