Cherng Talay Police received a call around midday about a woman "acting crazy" in the area. Officers arrived to find the woman, a 26-year-old Russian national from Moscow, speaking incoherently and seemingly unaware of her actions.
Local residents informed police that the woman had been entering and exiting multiple houses in the neighborhood.
One resident, Wannipa Modemai, later reported that the woman had entered her home, walked into her son’s bedroom, and changed into his scout uniform.
“We tried to get her to change back, but she suddenly walked out of the house and disappeared,” Ms. Wannipa said, adding that she held no grudge against the woman but simply wanted the uniform back.
Police detained the woman and later transferred her to Thalang Hospital after determining that she was likely suffering from a mental health condition.
Officers noted that there was no indication she was under the influence of drugs, and no charges were filed against her.
The woman’s passport confirmed she had departed Moscow and arrived in Cambodia on Nov 17 last year. She then arrived in Phuket on Jan 15, and is permitted to stay until Mar 19.
