Thalang Police were notified of the incident after receiving a report from Thalang Hospital via the police radio centre at 8:50am.
The deceased was identified as a Russian national*.
According to the report, the accident occurred at Boat Avenue in Cherng Talay at about 3:40am. Emergency responders transported the injured man to Thalang Hospital for treatment.
Despite efforts by medical staff, the Russian man was pronounced dead at 8:18am.
An investigating officer from Thalang Police Station was assigned to examine the case, and the body has been sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have yet to confirm the circumstances surrounding the crash and have not reported any other parties involved. Investigations are ongoing.
