Russian, Thai accomplices arrested for ‘wire fraud’ charges

PHUKET: A Russian man and three Thais have been arrested in Phuket in separate raids, with the Russian national wanted by US authorities on wire fraud charges.

Phuket Immigration and the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) conducted the raids, with 38-year-old Russian national Egor Nikolaevich Glebov, at a residence in Supalai Palm Springs in Srisoonthorn, Phuket Immigration reported.

Officers executed Search Warrant No. 36/2568 in relation to Criminal Court Arrest Warrant No. 6/2568, issued on Jan. 15, 2025.

Glebov was placed under arrest under charges “conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States” and “conspiracy to commit wire fraud’.

A second raid took place at a house at the 88 Land & House Koh Kaew housing estate under Search Warrant No. 39/2568 issued on Feb. 10, 2025.

During the search, three Thai nationals were taken into custody.

Phumin Saenbodo was arrested under Phuket Provincial Court Warrant No. 127/2568 for “Jointly organising a game or using tricks to help announce, advertise, or directly solicit, etc., or mule accounts”.

Jiranan Boonchan was arrested under Phuket Provincial Court Warrant No. 117/2568 on similar charges, while Sarika Pradittan was arrested under Phuket Provincial Court Warrant No. 120/2568 for related offenses.

All suspects were taken into custody for further investigation and legal proceedings, police noted in concluding their report.
