Police were called to the scene,on Srisoonthorn Rd, behind the Thai Watsadu store in Moo 3, Srisoonthorn, at about 12:10am.
According to Thalang Police, the 35-year-old man* was riding a Bangkok-registered motorcycle when he lost control on a curve and collided with a road barrier.
The tourist suffered severe head trauma in the impact.
Emergency responders quickly transported the man to Thalang Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities conducted an initial inspection at the scene of the accident and worked with doctors from Thalang Hospital to examine the body, which was later transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a more detailed post-mortem examination.
Officials have also informed the Immigration Bureau, the Royal Thai Police and the Russian Embassy about the incident, police noted in their report.
The case remains under investigation as police gather more details about the circumstances leading to the accident.
