Kathu Police were informed of the incident at about 5:10am, said Pol Lt Col Channarong Prakongkeaw, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of the Kathu Police.
Kathu Police Chief Pol Col Rungrit Ratanapakdee was informed of the incident.
Police along with Dr Tulayawit Wannasri, a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital, and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find the body of the man* on the ground in the parking area beside the condo building.
The base of his skull was fractured, his left arm was broken, and his right hip was broken. No signs of a struggle were found on his body.
From CCTV inside the building, the man was seen leaving his room on the fifth floor and making his way to the rooftop via the fire escape. He did not return.
No signs of a struggle or theft were found in his room, police reported.
The man’s body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further examination. Police are to coordinate with the Russian Embassy so relatives can be informed of the man’s death, police noted.
