Pol Lt Col Niwat Thimket of the Thalang Police was informed of the accident at 10pm.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the motorbike, a Phuket registered Yamaha NMAX, still upright, wedged between a power pole and the front gate to the house.
The body of the man* was on the driveway in front of the gate.
From their preliminary investigation, police reported that the man was driving towards Cherng Talay when he lost control of the motorbike on a curve and slammed into the wall.
Rescue workers at the scene, from both the Thepkrasattri Tambon Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor) and the Phuket Kusoldharm Foundation, transported the man’s body to Thalang Hospital.
The motorbike was taken to Thalang Police Station as evidence while police continue their investigation.
According to the police report, police had yet to inform Russian consular officials of the man’s death.
